Putting in a Vortec Big Block into my 77 stepside. Should be a pretty close drop in. I have noticed a few clearance problems. The exhaust manifolds are right on the frame rails and the oil pan hits the front cross member when you bring the t-case up to the frame with its cross member. Just wanting to know if any onw else has run into these problems and possible remedies. <font color="blue"> </font>

what did the vortec come out of, does it have a 4 wheel drive oil pan on it?

The engine did come out of a 2WD. Did a little research and found out. I couldn't see the forest through the trees. Made a new cross member and I think it will work fine.
