I started pulling the worn out 305 out of my '82 blaze tonight. The plan is to replace it with a 454 out of a 1990 truck. I have all the sensors and throttle body but no wiring harness or ecm. For a temp fix on this i was going to change the intake and carb it.
are there any problems associated with this swap i should be aware of or is all this a direct bolt in?
this quetion also goes for putting the motor into the engine bay.
All advice would be helpful on this.
Pics to follow in a day or two

I had a TBI454 in my old 89 GMC that I SAS'd, and with 40" boggers and 3.73 gears it would still go like a bat out of hell.

But you might be able to take the adapter off and put a Q-jet on, not sure when GM switched to the dedicated TBI intake.

I did a 350-454 last summer, didn't have to change anything to get the 454 in. All the wiring is the same, rerouted some, but worked great, ran even better.

cool, that's what i was figuring, that it would go right into the engine bay.
I thought i would go with the old moniker of no replacement for displacement. Especially since i'm not looking for speed. eventually the truck will be sitting on 1 tons, 4:88's with 42's. not really looking to do mach 3 down the interstate with that setup :D
