Started a new project today. Got an '82 Vision from a buddy (only made for two years). I went back and forth with him about it a month ago or so and finally walked away. He called last week and asked if I was still interested. My truck was in pieces and not driveable so I said no. His response was "I'm extremely flexible on price and delivery at this point". So why not?
The plan at this point is to redo all the lighting, rebuild the carbs, and possibly hack the tail off and replace it depending on how I feel. My legs are long enough that I'm a little cramped, so I'd like to mount a new seat a bit higher up on it. I've seen a Buell XB9 seat transplant that turned out quite nice and got rid of a lot of the 80's econobox look.
I'd also like to do a new exhaust, but the OE exhaust is pretty goofy, and I'm not sure I could pull it off without way too much work.
Anyway, I started on some of the teardown today. Terrible cell phone picture 5 minutes after I shoved it in the garage:
