Anyone ride motorcycles?
I have a 2000 Kawazaki ZRX1100.
I have a '83 GPZ 1100 A1 - fuel injected.
It's sitting in my parents garage waiting for me to fix a problem with the gas tank.
The engine has a fresh top end and pulls strong. I dunno about the new bikes, but I hear they make like 25% more power in a 1100 than mine made stock.
All I can tell you is my bike is Looooooooooong. Almost impossible to wheelie. And it's so heavy it will hook even with its bias ply tires!
When I used to ride it and think that it was impossible to die, I would race all the local guys, even the new bike one and I would win...until we got to about 155. Then I got a wobble and the big bikes could keep on.
If I were to ride it today, I doubt I'd go half that speed.
I'm on my 3rd bike a 91 Kawasaki KLR250. Would like to get a street bike too someday.
I like the american made bikes myself, even though my first bike was a '73 Honda CB350-4, then a '36 Harley /forums/images/icons/cool.gif 45 cu. (had to sell /forums/images/icons/frown.gif ), and now I'm doing a ground up rebuild /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif on a'62 Harley XLCH Sportster. I'm looking for another Big twin to work on. Any one got one they want to sell real cheap? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
/forums/images/icons/cool.gif If you don't chop it, then don't ride it! Ol' School Choppers never died, they were just being chopped! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
Iv got a 77 HD FX.74ci,kick only.
Straight pipes= /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
There is something about a kick /forums/images/icons/cool.gif only bike that make me hate starters on bikes.
Whimps use starters!!!!
I don't have one yet, but might get one as an economical way to get to work and school. Can't beat almost 50mpg.
I have an 86 Harley FXRS Low Rider (totally custom) and an 85 Goldwing Aspencade and my wife has a 1996 Harley XLH Custom. I ride as much as I can. Just put a new set of Spoked wheels on My FXRS with Dunlop 491's to get it ready for Sturgis. I will be there the 8th, 9th and 10th. Hope to see you there.
I've got a '95 HD XLH, lowered 2", straight pipes, and bored to 1200cc
Yahama IT 490. I used to ride on the street but I like the dirt better. The only law you have to worry about is the law of gravity. Dammm! It hurts when you brake that one.
1989 Yamaha FJ1200. 60,000 miles, bored out 1196. It's a beast and I love it!
Just last week I bought a 1997 Honda VFR750F (Interceptor) Two days later i took it to the big Bike Races at Laguna Seca Raceway.. This thing scoots! Just today i took it to 145 /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
I also have a CR125
i've got a 79 honda cm 185t
had it over 160 last week.
oops i meant 60..
nice bike to take a license exam on, things tiny, but its not bad acceleration for 185 ccs....
no use for it anymore, perfect shape, just wasting away in my garage...let me know if anyone needs a bike for as a starter... i paid 500 bucks for it, repainted it, chrome still nice...it was fun for a bit, but its not an R1 i'll tell you that!
I ride a motorcycle -1990 HD Heritage Softail Classic- the only vehicle I ever bought brand new. I had a rigid frame/springer front 1977 Sportster before this one, wish I still her, after all, 2 Harley's are better than one! I have 69,000 miles on the '90, she's been a sweet reliable ride. I will never part with her. I even painted my '54 Willys and my '74 Chevy truck to match her!
82 GS1100 Suzuki bigblock kit 1261cc,Mikuni smoothbores, Yoshimura racing pipe,K&Ns
