Ok so my fullsize spare (40x17x16.5 hawg) just flops around my bed... I want to mount it and also I have a hilift jack that I want to mount..

so I theoretically could just mount it to the floor with long bolts and nuts through lug holes and put metal enforcement under bed....

OR

I could mount my spare to the rollbar (not a true rollbar but more of a lightbar)...

then no clue where to put hilift jack...

looking for thoughts/considerations...

only handy pic of light bar... I have to take it off and sand/paint anyway but was thinking could bolt/weld X bars and put tire into middle of it...

Out of curiosity, what are using as the hi-lift jacking points on your truck? It looks like we have similar bumpers and I'm certain if I ever tried jacking up mine at the bumpers they'd get pretty badly messed up.

funny you say this... did you see my stuck pics the other day? look in my build thread if you didn't. I didn't have my hilift on me but I have one and never use it. going to though... so I am going to actually modify these bumpers. going to ask my bro in law the best way to... either weld something under them that the hilift can slide into... or cut the bumper some and build into the bumpers jack points.. one on each corner...

for now my biggie is I am going to get the wheel adapter for the hilift... where it has 2 J hooks... so when I'm stuck in deep mud.. I can put my 2x12x4' under jack.. jack tire up in air and place a 2x12x4 under each corner....

oh and fyi.. they are blazer bumpers!!! LOL.. I got them from a guy that used to be a member here... " Panther "
Hey a squarebody is a squarebody, that's part of the beauty of these rigs. We can share parts across blazers, burbs and trucks.

My hi lift is held in by bolts welded to the bed floor, and lays under the tools box. The spare has a 9" wing nut with a stud welded to it that threaded through the bed floor

I was going to suggest what Obijuan posted, in the bed behind the driver. Best place w/out blocking much of your rear view. I would stand the jack up in the corner of the bed right behind the driver and then you could use the tire help hold it in place. Next choice would be to mount it across the top of the bed rail, either below the rear window or along the driver side next to the tire. Maybe you could make one mount that holds the jack & tire?

Wow.. good info. I dont mond blocking rear view.. dont use it anyway.

Its gonna be a month b4 i get to it but im thinking weldong a v low on rollbar... then ----- across rollbar.. put 2 bolts and hold spair.... then figure out way to hold hilift on spare mount....

But i really like the way you 2 have hilift held...

So i bought mine so long ago from pepboys... i dont think its a "hilift" but a farm jack.... now i gotta look....

so I found this... gonna be a baseline for my thought.. but I'm thinking of having it off the bed... and a v under for the tire to sit into that will help relieve some weight...
