ok so on the quest of locking things down in my truck... anyone know of anything that can be used to hold down a lug wrench? it is the big plus style... years ago, when I was a younger non driving lad, I recalled my father having his clicked under the seat of his 73 f100 2wd... it clicked in and held... so I want to do that but trying to thing what is sold out there that could be used? I have had this thing for 27 years!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking maybe some kinda small style flashlight?

lol found it here - Vintage Sears Craftsman Tools 22 Sae 4-way Tire Iron Lug Wrench, 47401 Made Usa

I always carry a breaker bar with a 1/2" drive socket set. That spinner stays in the garage

well ive been thinking and I think I'm going to mount a pvc tube on back side of it.. then I'm thinking a door latch to click into the wrench to lock it in place.. hmmm.. more to come but not until at least 8/15... going on vaca soon!!!!

Just use some cable ties if you feel you might need it.... I mean really how many times a year/years might you use it?

I carry one ( Unsecured behind the seat ) when I tow my trailer..... Not much use for anything else.

For the sake of space, I'd carry a breaker bar and socket as suggested. Not only would the 4 way be seldom used, you'll only use 1 leg of it. Why carry something bigger than necessary?

The 4 way lets you spin the lugs off & on faster,a good thing if your changing a flat in the breakdown lane, but the breaker bar is practically a must to break the lugs loose, especially on a 8 lug truck..
I carry a cheater pipe too, that doubles as a handle for the floor jack I keep in the truck bed under the tool box..

You can put a U shaped conduit clamp large enough to let the smallest socket on the 4 way slide thru it to hold it in place behind the seat,as long as you dont mind a few sheet metal screws or pop rivets in the rear wall of the cab..

I found a good way to store my jumper cables--I had a junk 4:00x8" trailer tire hanging around,I coiled the cables up inside it and it stashes behind the seat nicely..beats having them tangled up in everything else I have stuffed back there...

I also screwed down a piece of metal behind the seat that was formerly an upright support for a pool,it is "U" shaped and fit perfect on the flat area behind the seat--keeps everything from dropping under the seat..I added a few metal hooks to the rear wall of the cab just under the window to hang my chains from too,and ratchet straps..
I still need more room ,I'd like to be able to carry spare quarts of oil and gallons of antifreeze, etc, but they end up sitting on the passenger side floor..good thing no one ever rides with me..

Breaker Bar , Cordless Impact . I haven't used a 4-way in years .
