I was a little disappointed the first time I tried to put my mountain bike in the back of the K5. Wished I didnt have to take the front tire off each time.
Probably going to get rid of the rear set too (maybe).

Anyone have any hints or tricks they use for putting a bike in the back?

I do not want to use a hitch rack, or roof rack, etc. as I dont want the bike to be outside the truck and able to be easily stolen. Went through that with my S10 and I was always concerned.

My bike fits fine in the back of my 88.Fold the back seat up tilt the bike until the handle bars are in the top push it forward and let the front wheel turn.In my 73 you have to take the front wheel off ,because the back seats bolted in.

So, I have a 74, with the back seat installed. My single speed and full suspension downhill bikes fit just fine behind the seat. Window rolls up and everything. Of course, they are not in there at the same time. You just have to get the front tire and bars facing the right way, trial and error. If you want, when I get home tonight, I can slap one in there and take a pick for you? And yes, the factory hard top is on. Beach cruisers are a way different story though!

Oh, I can fit it... just no as easy as I was thinking it would be. :D

If you are feeling helpful... I always like pictures. :waytogo:

I put a bike in my 94 blazer, and my burb on occasion. Really just not that easy. In my 94 for short trips i put it in horizontal on top of the back seat backrest.

Really, i want to get a hitch bike rack. SO much easier to load/unload, and secure enough if i run a cable through teh bike/wheels and lock to the hitch or rack.

I'm going for a ride tonight anyways so I will snap a pic or two. The front wheel does not have to come off either. The pics wont be posted until tomorrow morning though...hope you can wait a day :wink1:

I dont like keeping my bike outside anymore. I was always worried about that with my S10. I have to park in some areas where its not able to be watched sometimes.
Plus, when I ride in the winter... I dont like salt getting all over it.

Thats cool. Thanks!

Front wheel doesnt come off....

I can carry 3 mountain bikes standing up inside my '84. I just fold the seat forward and bungie it to the roll bar.

You should just be able to lay it down in there with the back seat folded down. My tailgate doesn't even come down and i can get my almost 40 lb AS-X in there.

But that takes up the whole back of the truck. Kind of a pain when traveling.

My seat doesn't fold. Just room for one bike with the top on. In the summer, when the top comes off, and I build my cage, I will do some mounts on it so I can carry a couple bikes (front wheels off).

Good luck buddy, I turn the bars and put them over the seat first, then the rest goes. No problem on the pics

Its cheating if you don't have a spare in your blazer. Obviously it will fit easily w/o a factory spare.

Spare tire inside the blazer? Ask four by Ken if he has one inside? As for me? I don't even have a spare, at the moment :)
