I am trying again to restart my long dormant K5 project by replacing the bent 78 frame with a straight 84ish frame. I am only trying to get the tub mounted to the frame (I am not worried about brake lines, fuel lines, etc. right now). Is it as simple as ordering a body bushing kit for the 84. Does anyone know for sure (I can't afford to experiment)?

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! Don't go by the body year. Go by the frame year.

If you get the body year bushings, they will be different compared to the older frame. The older frame uses bushings that are different heights and the newer ones use bushings that are all identical in height and shape.

Order mounts to fit the '81 to '91 years Blazer.

Well 78 was the year they changed the floor to have a footwell , so they should be pretty close .

The front tub , the rear tailgate locations are in the right spot . I just don't remember if the middle are inside or outside of frame , I want to say outside on both 78 or 84 since some 78's got cats .

and as above get 81 and newer bushings
