I'm interested in how people mounted their jerry cans on their rigs. I would love to see some pictures. I just bought the wedco type and can't mount with the blitz style stuff. I am going to use the tray type holders and would like to see what everyone else is doing.:D

I have a mount on my swing away rear bumper, I have been looking for a deal on Scepter MFC fuel cans. These are the New Military ones.

Wow Pam I forgot how good lookin your rig was,
" That cage you got there, lookin perty good!"

This is how mine looks I didn't have a pic with them on truck but you can see how it is protected by the tire.

Wow! I guess when Axle sang 'welcome to the jungle' he must've just seen your rig cruising L.A !:D
Sorry to hear about your vapour lock....sounds nasty!;)

I did this:

I made the tray, welded some vertical tubes on with bolts welded to the ends. Then ran a strap across the cans and used wingnuts to tighten it all down. The chain was for theft security.

What kind of strap on the spare tire can? Your truck is badass, by the way.
Thank you. It's built in the hope that little stoopid ricers will not drive close to me.

The water can carrier is a blitz can holder bolted to a gas can carrier that some company sold (I'll see if I can locate who that was later today) and construction strap that I fabbed up to hold the jerry can down. I had a guy weld a larger plate that I cut and drilled to the tubing that bolts to the spare tire so it would fit my lug pattern.

The strap is in two parts. The part you see hooks in the slot at the bottom of the blitz holder and runs through the handle of the can at the top. Then another smaller strap is bolted to the piece attached to the spare, and it overlaps the bottom strap. Then I have a lock up there to keep it secure.

Mark: yes the vapor lock has been a royal PITA. I'll know soon enough if it's solved for good this summer - going to be a hot one here I think.

But that's ok, I have trouble understanding some American humour!:D

Oops. No. Right over my head. But in the spirit of that finely honed English humour, my witty and considered retort... "Oh, sod off!" :haha::haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:J/K. That's all the english I know :doah::wink1: (See, even gave you a nice ending line to which you may reply with a plethora of wit, hopefully some that I will understand) :D

Well, now that you know me, that's 2 pieces of English you know!
I'm a bit short on humour this morning as it's hot, humid and I've got to take my hydro assist off the truck as it's just not fast enough to be safe on our little roads over here!:doah:
Anyone want to buy a ram and hoses?:D j/k

Maybe the next time you need parts, we can just do a parts exchange! :wink1: :deal:

My 77 used to vapor lock. I installed an electric fuel pump and it stopped it.

*start of hijack* Yea, did that, but still had mechanical pump too. Didn't fix. Now mech pump gone and lines re-routed. That should do it. Will know for sure once I sit in 100 degree heat for a while in bumper to bumper traffic. *end of hijack*
