I have been reading a lot about using 52" springs at front. I am going to put Dana 60 and 14bff in my K5 this winter and want to do the swap and probably do something about the rear also.

I would like to move the front housing litle more towards the front of the truck and the rear a little more towards the rear (2-3 inches).
, more if possible :) )
1) Will 52" swap move the housing a little more to the front and if so, how much?

2) Are there some springs I can use at the rear wich can move the 14bff back?

It will move it forward, how far forward it goes depends on how you do the swap

56" rear spring swap will move the rear back

I recommend searching and reading the tech articles

56" springs will only move the rear axle toward the rear if you install them "backwards", with the longer side facing the front of the truck. Definitely need to address axle wrap after doing this.

For the front, the "cheap" 52/56" front swap where you simply move the spring hangers forwards nets about 2" movement of the axle towards the front of the truck. With B52's or custom front hangers, you can get anywhere from stock to 3+" forward.

He pretty much nailed that. 56's backwards on the rear will move the rear axle backwards approx 5"

Great, are 56" from 3/4 or 1 tonn trucks? There are some springs attached to the 14bff but they are in a another part of the country (havent taken them home yet, are at my friends farm) so I havent measured them.

Some 3/4 tons have them and all 1 tons I have had experience with have 56's.

Thanks, seems I am lucky because I should own one then :) Will the axle wrap be a big problem or is that something I could live with in a trail vehicle with 6.2 diesel?
