Hi all , I did a search but havnt really found anything. Anyways I wold like to get more flex out of my 2.5" lift springs. what I was thinking about doing is moving the factory shackle mount forward a bit and installing slightly longer shackles. I figure doing this will make the spring act softer and will allow more droop. I plan on doing a crossover steering and run 52s when I swap in the dana 60, but that wont be well into next year, and I want to do some more wheeling now. You guys see any problems with this? here is a pic or two of my front end almost maxed (not very impressive!) I would like to get atleast a couple more inches out of it.
Thanks

I did that to my front end and it sofened up a lot. It has a bit more droop to. I would do it for the ride and put a limit strap on the drivers side. The extra droop can really hurt the ability of the stock steering to actually direct the tires.

Thanks! IF you dont mind me asking, how far did you move the shackle, and what length shackle?
Thanks
Shawn

I think they are 6.5" eye to eye. I know they are 1" longer than stock. I think there is a pic of my front shackles in my sig link.

with 7 1/4" shackles you can move the rear mount the same as you would if you had a 52" spring swap.
