moving the front axle really far foward

i was thinking about full hydro but i just dont want to give up sunday drives..

My front is between 7" and 9" forward and Full Hydro is the only way to go. I had dreams of driving my junk on the street, but I let that go a while ago:haha: In every mod you do, there are usually compromises.

have you had a chance to wheel this setup yet? I'm interested to know how it flexes with the axle so far forward on the springs. the approach angle looks awesome but is there any drawbacks?

Nope, haven't had a chance to touch it since those pics were taken. The axle is still on the center pin of the springs, they are just 52" dodge springs and the center pin is offset.

i know im dragging this thread back from the dead, im contemplating doing nearly the same thing, but with dodge 56" springs so i dont have to move the rear hanger. this should push my axle the 4-5" forward that i need.

stomper, did you have to put an angle shim under the spring pack to correct your caster/pinion ujoint angle?

twoslo4five0, how is your swap progressing? i got my set of dodge 56" springs over the weekend. I pulled a pack from an 02 durango. 5 leaf pack with an 1800lb capacity. I am now trying to decide if i want to just move the stock hangers like on the original 52" swap write up or go with Kurts B52 hangers, or make a version of my own...
