Hello!
Im moving to Colorado in 2 weeks. I used this news to convince myself i finally had a good reason to buy a blazer. After 6 months of lookin, i found me one. At 22, and already owning 4 other cars, this was a big decision

Im about to have to do a little engine work, and im seriously considering removing all the smog equipment. If i stayed here in Texas, that would not be a problem whatsoever, but i am unfamilier with CO's smog laws. Can i rip off all the crap? There are so man random ass vaccum lines, and the smog pump made installing a new fuel pump rather difficult yesterday.

basically, i need to know if i can rip off smog stuff

background on the truck.
Its an '86, with a Edelbrock performer crate motor (350 cu, 310hp/375tq)
I took it wheelin within the first 2 days of having it. This is my first 4x4, and im fired up about it. Hello 4Low, it crawled up some impersive stuff.

Colorado Springs is in El Paso County if you didn't know that already. So says here El Paso County no longer has emission testing. HOWEVER, I would keep all the stuff you take off because you never know when they will put it back into effect.

Colorado Motor Vehicle Emissions Program

Enhanced program area consists of the full counties of Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson as well as parts of the counties of Adams and Arapahoe.
Effective January 1, 2007, the basic gasoline emissions program area that consists of the counties of Larimer, Weld and El Paso will no longer require emission testing. Diesel vehicles must still be inspected. There have been no changes to the diesel inspection program in these counties.
The diesel emissions program area consists of the full counties of Boulder, Jefferson, Broomfield, Denver, and Douglas, as well as parts of Adams and Arapahoe, Larimer, Weld, and El Paso counties.

Man, that is great. There is SOO much crap on this motor, its ridiculous. There is something like 5 vaccum lines, coming off the water neck inlet! there are some coming out of the intake, behind the carb, there are T's everywhere for the vaccum lines.
Like i said above the motor is claimed to have 310hp, it has so much crap on it, and vaccum leaks im sure it will feel like a whole new motor when i get done with a little TLC.
I just need to get a Hayes, or Chiltons book, so i dont removing something i like, for example, the non working cruise control.

Thanks for the reply, and any suggestions would be great. Cant wait to get up there!!
