Want to see what everyone is getting for mileage. I know this has been talked about before just want to see if anyone is doing worse than me. Please state your model year, injection system(tbi, tpi, carb if carb state what), engine, exhaust, rear ratio, and tire size.

84 K5
Stock Quadrajet carb
brand new rebuilt 355 with manifolds and dual glasspacks
sm465
2.73s with 33s
MPG - 6

I am serious by the way, most people think I shoudl be doing great with those 2.73s but umm no. Oh and my quadrajet isn't tuned right so my secondaries never open. Gonna fix that tomorrow I hope should be great to get like 4 mpg.

Yeah! I'm second:

86' 454 Quadrajet, 10's of 1000's of miles, no emissons stuff
4spd
4.10s with 35x14.5 thornies
2.5" manifolds, true duals, glasspacks
1-ton gear, long bed

CITY: 6mpg on a good day
HIWAY: 10mpg at 60 with no passing

1990 burban
4" lift
33's - 3.42 ratio
Tbi 350

My mileage hangs right around 10mpg - rarely more than that.
We'll see how that changes when I go to 4.10's.

My longbox was set up like this:

78 LWB
4.10's
TH400
Quadrajet on a box-stock 350
36x12.50R16 tires.

On the highway, on a good day I could get 13 MPG, but averaged about 10-11.

don't know type of carb
rebuilt 400 dual flowmaster exhaust
don't know ratio yet (thinkin 3.73)
35" tires
10+ mpg (speedos way off, so don't know exact)

81 Jimmy
mechanical injection
6.2 with about 220 K
SM 465
4.56's with 39.5's

I average 17 miles per US gallon combined city and highway...

Best mileage I ever got with my 355 was 16 on a long freeway trip. That was with 2.73's, the 465 and 33's. If you're getting 6 you need to do some serious tinkering with the Quarda-toilet...

yeah I really do need to mess with it big time. A family friend claims he can tune her in for me so I am going to go there tomorrow I think.

76 1 ton dually
366 ci
600 edelbrock performer
summit bbc headers
3" exhaust
3;73 rears
265/70/16's

5mpg city, highway, or just sitting there

I agree, something's wrong if your getting 4-6mpg with a q-jet. I get 9-10mpg on my 454 with a comp cam, 2.19/1.88 valves and 4.10 gears driving like a typical person who is late to school every morning. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif If your secondaries dont open your choke might be closed all the time giving you sh!t for milage, right? that's the way mine was.

Might as well.

'88 K5
stock 350 with TBI (130K+ miles)
manifolds Y'd into a 3 1\4" in 3 1\4"out screen type converter, feeding a 3 1/4" in, twin 2 1/4 out muffler exhaust
3:43's I think maybe 3:73's gotta check
almost new (1 year old) 700R4
worn out 32's

I can get 15-17 mpg on trips to the flatlands
12-14 on trips around here
8-10mpg in town
(depending on the foolishness of the local ricers)

3.4 ton 72 blazer
350 with hei,msd,76 corrvette 2.02/1.96 valves,crane roller rockers,headers and dual2 inch exhaust.
465/205 combo
4.10 gears
i get about 6 to 8 in town and about 10 on the highway. 200 miles on a tank and at 20 gallons in my tank i figure i got 10 miles to the gallon.
