Mr. Clean's dune cruising 71' K5 "Oprah" beams, links, and turbo ls powwwa

Would it have been able to pull itself free if it was still four wheel drive?

A local photographer was out in the dunes while i was out there amd got a few good shots of me. Photo credits Bill Loomis.

Damn close call! Glad you got the fire out.

So all that aside, were the paddles worth it as far as traction?

Does it look like it will rattle around? I literally want like 4 of them in mine. One under hood, 2 up front, one in the rear. Fire scares me.

I don't think they will rattle. Like K85 says it's a quality piece and would look good mounted in your truck as well as Oprah.

Bummer with the fire. What temp was your trans running?

I didn't see any hand digging in the sand, next time kick your co-pilot out and get to diggin'! :deal: :)

Some more pics from the day that a friend of mine took that came with me

No need for a driveshaft. The truck is 2wd. I did that on purpose. It has been stated many times in this build thread. Lets not keep revisiting this same topic over and over.

Do you have a locking dipstick on the chromy one?
Is the case vent open, it should have been puking out of there as well.

Alright im out of ideas so i will see who has got an idea.

I have a miss in 2 maybe 3 cylinders. The thing is loading up really bad because of it. Causing it to be really under powered at the moment. So i put a brand new msd hei dizzy in it. I put brand new msd wires on it (before the engine fire) and today i put 8 brand new plugs in it. When i put the dizzy in the pigtail connectors for the s wire and power were looking like they had seen better days so i have 2 new ones that will be here in the morning. After all of that i still have my miss. My thoughts now are wondering if perhaps the engine fire burned up some of my new plug wires, but it was doing it before the engine fire. Just not as bad. It seemed to actually get worse( by worse i mean more noticeable) with the new dizzy.

Any tboughts on what to look into??? I would doubt it was the s wire or power wire connectors but i will replace those tomorrow to just eliminate that.

Like i said my thoughts are leaning towards plug wires but im just looking to see maybe im overseeing something.

I even tore the carb all apart tonight and gave it a good cleaning just for something to do and to get my mind off the electrical stuff.
