Ill do it tomorrow and ill post pics:thumb: cause I aint no pro.

Well i got the blazer up to temp and then ran it around (running like crap) and shut it off at 2500. Now the plugs are brand new so idk if maybe i should do it a couple times because they didnt show alot of color on the porcelain. You can see how black it is around the porcelain. Now im sure some of this is due to my timing as i still havent thrown a light on it but its close enough it shouldn't be running that rich.

Idk why i didnt get numbers off the jets to see what size they were when i had the carb apart yesterday but i think that may be a next stop? I need to atleast know if someone else has had their hands in there messing around and for some reason jetted the carb rich. Or maybe the carb was on a bigger motor at some point in time.:dunno:

According to that chart id describe it as carbon fouled i guess it resembles ot the most. Leaning more towards a carb issue then. The metering rods seemed like they have seen better days. Rebuild kits are cheap for those edlebrocks. Might be good insurance to rebuild it with new rods, springs, and seats and then look more into my jetting.

what brand of plugs... I would run nothing but AC's in a GM head.
how's the coil?
Is it getting a full 12+ volts at all rpms?

Yupp replaced the autolites that were in it with some ac delcos. And hpw would i test for 12volts at different rpms. I have a test light but it only lights when its full 12v. Doesnt give me an actual voltage read out

Got my $4.99 mulit meter from HB. :thumb: lets see if we can find a problem today. I also have a edelbrock recalibation kit showing up today so one way another. Electrical or carb related hopefully will be able to diagnose Oprah's problem.

Its an hei dizzy that i put in
so it came with a new coil on the distributor then right?
Don't take this as an insult Nate, but are you sure the firing order is right? 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, and where is your timing at for idle, and @ 2500?
has the inline ballast resistor to the dist. power wire been removed? It is usually on the firewall by the dist.
Check the ohms resistance of each plug wire, and the condition of the wires and their routing. a set of MSD wires should be less than 100ohms per foot of wire, but even up to 1000 ohms/foot would be ok.

This may be of some help too:

No offense taken. I probally checked my plug wires and firing order 4 or 5 times because i new it would be something stupid.........well stupid the problem was. I found my issue tonight. When i threw the new dizzy in i couldnt find my timing light so just threw it in where the old one was and it fired right up. I messed with it a little and got it sounding good, so i thought except undet load is when it ran like crap. Well i wasnt able to touch the blazer for about a week now so tonight i had time. Still cant find my light so ran to craigs and grabbed his light. Threw it on and it was a mile off. To be honest idk how it was even starting or running how far off it was. But none the less its running again. Its never felt so good to feel those 180 horses underneath my right foot. :pimp: so now i need to start prepping for the next dune trip... memorial weekend.

Now drivng it around tonight there is a very obvious noise coming from my th400. Its a high pitch whining noise. And it increases with speed and rpm in gear. Its most noticeable in 1st and then in 2nd. Not so much in 3rd. My initial thoughts are that ots the TC:dunno: is it something i should be concerend with. Maybe its no good. I do have the TC out of my th350 i could throw in if they are interchangeable.
