Mr. Clean's dune cruising 71' K5 "Oprah" beams, links, and turbo ls powwwa

Will it do it by just brake torquing it? If so that basically confirms a tc issue

I don't know much about that noise, but I know that when you install a trans the TC gets seated 2 times.... You slide it on until it stops. Then spin it again and push it until it drops deeper into the bell housing.

If you don't seat it properly (both steps) you put a lot of pressure on the rear pump and will burn it up. My only guess is that the pressure of not being seated properly is causing that noise? :dunno:

The tc not being seated correctly caused the death of my trans. I needed to shim with washers on the new one to make sure it didn't kill the pump again. I didn't notice any noise, then again my rig is kinda loud.

In my searching of the intrawebs last night i found alot actually talking about this notorious th400 whining. Appearently the 400's are known for it. I had found the biggest three things for the cause was 1. Clogged filter, straining the pump 2. Low fluid level 3. Extra cooler line, or bigger tranny cooler. Requiring more pressure to push the fluid threw your cooler.

Im going to change out my filter, and then recheck fluid. But i did add a massive electric tranny fan with lines that run the full length of my blazer. It is seeming i may need an upgraded pump to push more fluid through my system.

I will take a look at my free play on the tc tho although i know i checked it on the install amd determined it was good. Doesnt hurt to double check.

I'm pretty positive the Tc seats 3 times. As I just put a Hughes in a th400 2 weekends ago and the directions stated 3.

I think yours is seated good nate. I'd look into that pump stuff. That's a long way to pump that fluid.

Well weekend thrash fest was an overall success. I didn't get as much done as I wanted, but my expectations were really high. Deuling and myself put in a ton of hours this week. I have a few more odd and end things to finish up during the week but other than that Oprah is ready for Silver Lake for the holiday.

Got my front bumps added. Had to add to my radius arms to make a bump pad also it reinforced the arms in the process. Moved my shocks around and put a good coat of paint on everything. Super happy with how the front end turned out. The deaver super flex coils are pulling 14"s up front. Only thing I need to add yet are limit straps which I will order in the morning.

Thursday can't come soon enough. So read for 5 days off. Chilling in silver lake with Deuling and the blazers.:woot::woot::woot:

Oh yah pics

I forgot to add. I dropped my tranny pan this week and put a new filter on and new o rings on my pick up. Put it back togethor and i have no more pump whining. :thumb:

My looking on the intrawebs i saw alot of guys saying that bad o rings on the pickup will cause it to suck air resulting in the "whine" and also clogged filter. So i figured easy enough and cheap enough to start there and it worked for me.

Score 1 for the intrawebs.

A pic of your blazer popped up on my feed on Instagram this morning... can't remember what account posted it but it was one of the big desert/sand accounts.

If you happen to see it again send it to me. Remember what the post was about?

Yah i threw a pic of it up on our local dunes fb page and its got close to 200 likes and people are going pretty nuts over it. Super pumped to get it on the sand this weekend.

I dont have an instagram but maybe i should. About 3 months ago some random kid messaged me a instagram account and it was some 17 year old girl who was stealing every picture of my ford off my fb and then posting it as hers on instagram. :haha:

In the last week with all the attention Oprah is getting on the intrawebs a previous owner of the truck is trying to get his name associated with its recent popularity............. and so this picture has surfaced. From when he owned it.

This picture makes me sick. To see Oprah with such a hideous wheel and tire combo. :haha:

Some comments have been made by P.O. and several of I guess his friends talking about how they built this truck and blah blah blah. It doesn't really bother me because anyone who knows me knows what I have done to the truck. And I won't take credit away from where credit is due. I didn't have anything to do with the cage...yet, but it was built by a bad a$$ local fabricator and he did an awesome job. Its just sad watching people trying to steal some credit for something they didn't do. Especially a P.O.

Anyways I'm pumped about the attention Oprah is grabbing. Its kind of cool. We will see how this weekend goes when people see here in person and realize she looks a lot better in pictures then in person :haha::haha::haha:

When people ask me if I built my truck I usually say bits and peices of it.

It wouldn't be getting attention if you weren't using it. :D
