Mr. Clean's dune cruising 71' K5 "Oprah" beams, links, and turbo ls powwwa

Yah you can send it if you want. I wouldn't mind looking at it. I habe already ordered half my turbo stuff. There is a local tuner who has built his career on tuning turbo ls motors and spoke with him about my goals and have come up with a solid plan.

I want managable power. I dont see the need for twins and 1,000hp. My goals are 450-500hp.

Are you going to change the valve springs or anything?

You can see here you can easily make 450 - 500 hp with 10 lbs of boost intercooled spinning it to 6000 - 6500.

Turbo mass air flow of 50 lbs at a pressure ratio of 1.68.

Yes I will be putting stiffer valve springs in it. I am even thinking I am going to go ahead and do arp head studs right now while the motor is out as well.

That looks about right were I wanted to be then. I was estimating running 12psi to get where I wanted so I was all that far off. I will problally start with 10 and make sure all the kinks are worked out and get some time in the truck. Then after that I fully intend to start playing with boost and see where it goes.

First box arrived today! My Tab Zone 9" backbone truss. Super good quality on the plasma cutting and on the forming. Perfect fit.

Was going to blast the axle and tear it down today....but Friday I stopped and bought a sand blaster from HF and opened the box today to find pieces broken everywhere. So have to take that back and we will try again tomorrow I guess.:dunno:

Interested to see how this progresses!

Become a big fan of beams ever since I bought my 1970 F250 back in april - grab yourself a set of beams from a 1976-79 F350; get the bigger one ton beams and they net an inch of lift automatically compared to the earlier ones.

Just did that swap myself.

Well I guess I haven't revealed this information in here yet.

I am not going to be building the beams for this truck. I have decided to let a buddy of mine, Neal Griffen, the owner of Griffen Fab Works to build the beams for "Oprah". The dude knows what he is doing when it comes to beams and with the amount of work I'm planning for this winter having him do the beams and steering I feel is going to be money well spent. It leaves me to get the motor, tranny, wiring, gauges, rear linked, build 9", and do a new cage.

This is his kit on a burb that he did last year. The kit will pull anywhere from 20"-24"s of travel based on shocks and a few other things.

The plan is get the truck stripped down and the cage work done, motor tranny in, and the rear linked with the 9" and then it will be loaded up and dropped off at Neal's shop where he will be building the beams, radius arms, and a dual swing steer for it and installing it all.

Very nice, that will be light years ahead of the empty solid axle. :)

Are you planning on running bypass shocks as well?

Well turbo showed uo today. And for some reason so did a second one...someone screwed up somewhere...so twins:dunno:

Nah ill stick with the single. Not enough room for twins.

NFW? a freebie....for raffle at next years dunefest?

Excited to see this all come together Nate!

More parts arriving daily! I have been working 12-14hr days so havent had the time to actually work on the thing. Work, sleep, order parts, and work some more

Anyways intercooler is here. I am actualy really suprized on the quality for how cheap it was. Plus its massive!
