MSD 6a 6200 on a TBI?

You can run it on a TBI engine but it won't help any. I used to have one on my rig and I couldn't tell a difference. Now if you install an MSD box on a carbed engine then it DOES make a huge difference.

Is that harness all that I would need to hook it up, aside from wiring the box to power and ground?

The parts are just sitting on my fridge, I might as well put them to use.

Why the difference for carbed motors? less than ideal atomization?

Yes, the plug and play harness is all that's needed other than a hot and ground. MSD stopped selling that harness for a while (I have that harness that I bought years ago and it sure makes it easy).

The difference is that vehicles with an ECM are already optimized as far as spark is concerned. The coil will help get you a more powerful spark though.

i installed a msd on a carb setup. WOW yes worth it.

latter swaped to tbi and then reinstalled it and didnt feel any real diffrence on the tbi like the carb motor did.

and plug and play is the best on them if you ask me.

if you wana do anything just use the coil over the stocker and sell the box.

I get about 1 more mpg, and I noticed a quicker throttle response.
That's about it.

I have the 6AL.

The guys are all right. Fuel injected computer controlled vehicles usually run quite efficiently stock. If you've done upgrades to the motor, injection, computer or basically anything that will increase fuel and air in the cylinder then you will benefit from the setup.

If the motor is bone stock and is burning the air/fuel mixture in the cylinder with no issues then gains you will notice will likely be minimal.

I will say this though; I'm a believer in "every little bit helps"

I have a mildly modded TBI motor in my 87 and I feel the gain in the box mainly at higher RPM's. This comes in handy for me climbing sand dunes and such.

I'm a huge fan of the skinny pedal too though!
