I have a used MSD 6A I want to install in my 78 Blazer w/ stock setup. Can someone explain the wiring install or maybe a link to a diagram? What location do you like to mount the box? I figure it needs to stay dry and I need to make some rubber isolators since I don't have those.

Hopefully I see some type of difference vs. bone stock. Should I replace the wires and coil with better parts?

You will se a light diference when turning the engine, a bit more power not a huge thing i mean it burns the gas for efficientlly so the more burn the more power to the piston. I would recoment getting a good coil and bypassing the module, hook the box if it were a 4 pin module on the instructions. I have the Mallory box and works pretty good its been tested.....believe me.

I saw a HUGE improvement with my engine once I installed the MSD 6A system! With that being said, my engine is far from stock (carbureted 400 sbc... nothing really stock on it except block and main caps), so I couldn't tell you if a stock engine would net much in return. As for me, it is soooo much easier to start, is much smoother throughout the powerband, and more efficiently burns the fuel (plugs are cleaner and there is less of a gassy exhaust smell). This was one of the better upgrades I made to the engine... very noticeable!

I have the digital 6al with rev limiter , its on a propane powered 358 and can REALLY see the differance in all ranges. I hooked it up and ran it for a while to see how it did, then disconnected it to really see my power differance...The results were alot better with it than without it, i will always run one especially if its carbed. It makes it run more efficent, mines ran to a mallory unilite and blaster 2 coil. The rubber isloators are super cheap at the part store that sells msd. I had it on the inner fender all the way in the back but moved it inside, just make sure it is somewhere that it gets air.
