MSD 6AL, running without the rev limiter?

Dad has a MSD 6AL box sitting on the shelf. I want to throw it on my 1997 C2500, but being a fuel injected truck I don't want to run the risk of the rev limiter interfering with something(not that I rev the thing out like that anyway), so does anyone know what will happen if I jut don't run the limiter "chip"? Just have no limiter?

put the 7k or 8k chip in and never hit it. as stock wouldnt hit anyways.

and if i recall 6al wont run with out chip but offroad box with rev box will run with out chip only.
