MSD ignition worth it??

I installed the MSD Pro-Billet distributor, Blaster 2 coil, 8.5mm Superconductor wires and the 6AL multi-spark in my 72 K5 with GMPP 383HT.

Also, the 6AL has a rev-limiting feature, but the rev adjusters it came with skip from 3000 to 6000. My motor reds at 5000.

Also, the distributor comes with different curve spring sets.

I noticed better low-end torque and it now starts almost immediately after the starter engages.

I was very pleased with the twin 10 foot burnout on my 16.5 by 10's too!

It works great and looks good.

my old motor was oil burnning monster. put msd stuff on like above and whent 5-6k miles more on a set of plugs. if that helps you.

I run an MSD Digital/Programable 7 with a Crank Trigger. They make excellant products and have excellant tech Support

.
how much did that setup cost ya?? so if i put an msd on my truck will i still have to set the timing with a timing light or does the box take care of that???

I don't remember what I spent. You could price it out online at Jeg's

Yes, I still had to time it and I used a light to do it. The 6AL box only provides the multiple spark and rev-limiter.

They do make a newer distributor the does electronic advance, but mine has a vacuum advance.

I have a mallory billit HEI, and it works great, truck starts right up every time, I just wish I had a rev limiter.
