MSD Ignition

Is there a way to test if the MSD ignition in my truck is working right? The reason I ask is because I thought that if the power wire coming from the battery to the MSD box wasnt hooked up it wouldnt work and the motor wouldnt run but I had the wire unhooked yesturday for a minute and it didnt quit or anything. Is there any way to really test to see if its working right? Honestly I never noticed much difference after I installed it which makes me wonder why I spend $200 on it lol.

What dis. do you have? I know with mine i run the msd direct plug in dist. and it will not run if that wire is not hooked up. You should notice a smoother idle and better pickup. what did you gap your plugs at? Should be around .050 or so depending on compression of the motor.
