Guys and gals I just trashed my MSD Probillet Dist. with a factory part the rotor cap in a msd package came with new screws of course I put them in. Turned the key and the screws supplied by msd are 3/8 inch to long it cut thru the magnetic pickup in the dist. So check your screw length before you put a new rotor cap in the correct ones are 1/2 inch long. I called them and have a new part on the way for free I just wanted to post this so you dont kill your ride like I did.

So was this a problem that they were aware of?

They said they didnt know of it but 1st class mailed a new part without so much as are you sure it was our part just ok no problem parts on the way we will look into it.

Now that's customer service at its' best. It's easier to eat a few dollar part than to try and regain customer trust and satisfaction. :thumb:

Rollcenter,

After reading your post I'd like to let you know that this issue is being looked into. I work for MSD and I have passed this thread on to the customer service manager and he is actively working on correcting any issue that may be present. Thanks for the heads up and I appologize for any trouble. If you need any assistance feel free to give me a call at 915-856-2739. MSD takes great pride in helping our customers so let me know if there is anything I can do to lend a hand.

It just cost me 300 dollars to fix the problem plus a tow 70 bucks and the new part 25 bucks. A certain idiot at msd named Dra told me he was sending me a coil than after a week I call him back. He tells me you dont have any in stock then he tells me he will call me the next day. No friggn call no help from MSD. Then I find out I have to pull the dist. out to do the job and no one will touch it. So I finally get Jay at THE CARBURETOR SHOP 303/781/1118 to do the rebuild great service from this shop a true race shop with dyno service and they know what the hell they are doing my truck runs great now NO THANKS TO MSD I will never use your product on another build again. Do to the lip service this moron you have gave me and lied twice to me about.

Once again I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you tell me the part number of the rotor you installed so I can research this further? Again I would like to offer you assistance and I assure you this is being forwarded to the proper personnel.

Phil
