Will be buying a new set of rubber for the blazer in about a month to 2 months and cant make a decision on what to buy. stuck between goin with what a know and like or trying something new.

I have been running the MTR's and love them but would like the try out the trxus MT's, or go with what the woman and kid like <boggers cause they say they look neat>.

gimmie your thoughts or opinions

Terrain/type of wheeling? Amount of street miles?

Boggers will suck for street miles but will dominate in mud. MTR's are a great all around tire but don't do well with mud or wet rocks. I personally would try the Truxus MT's, Maxxis Big Horn, or something like that if the truck isn't a complete DD and you do wet muddy trails.

I vote TrXus MTs. From the wheeling I`ve done with them (woods) they`ve been great! Not to mention, they`re not balance, and ride like a caddy at 55mph on the highway.:D

the K5 is my DD i drive about 17 miles round trip for work, other then that it isnt driven except for play. as for terrain, i like everything except huge rocks... not much for the rockcrawling thing. the MTR's have treated me pretty well so far but would love to try something new.

So far the tires i've ran are radial TSL's, Claws, and some hankook mt's, and currently my MTR's on both the K5 and the cherokee.

I had the TrXus MT's on my Ranger.

Flat out loved them. Good price, wore great, clawed through anything wet or loose, great road manors, excellent in the snow and ice (they're already siped), just plain good tires. A bit heavy on the balancing but then again they're a Swamper. Not the best in sand under my uses but I also had a 9" wide tread pattern on mine. Aired them WAY down and they got me along.

I had TrXus, got them almost 5 years ago after the new product line came out. They were great off road and had good road manners but couldnt keep them balanced. The tires were out of round, shook all the time, and wore out in 30 K miles. Soft compound. Left rubber tracks in my driveway from pulling in and out every day. It appears several are having good luck with the TrXus now so maybe I got an early set and they have improved. Since mine is my DD, I cant afford to replace tires every 2 years. I just went to MTR's and what a difference.

All the guys I know that have used the trxus and boggers weren't pleased with them after using either TSLs or MTRs.

How did the hankooks treat ya? What about BFG M/T? Those things have been around for ages!!

i had a set of trxus and off road they were amazing! snow and ice was even better! on road they rode very smooth and balanced with very little noise for such a knoby tire onlt draw back is they wore pretty quick, but if you do buy a set i suggest going to 4 wheel parts as i got a warranty fo like 50 bucks and the guy told me its a no questions asked warranty i could go out and stick a knife through the sidewall and he would replace them. i forget his name but he was the manager of the local 4 wheel parts store and he even stayed after so he could make sure everything was done right.

I never did put a number on mine but at a little over 15k when I sold the truck they hadn't entirely worn down the first little "step" at the top of the tread blocks.
This was on a Ford TTB pickup that never quite aligned right either.

It's all up to you really. We can only give opinions and everyone's going to differ.

Would love to slap the boggers on, but i think for durability i will stay with the MTR's or try out the trxus MT's... nothing out there atm that i think i would buy. the MTR's are a great tire for what i do, plus the warranty i can get with them from Goodyear is great. i'm leaning towards the trxus for something. still have a month to decide before i get my pension money from Owens Corning when they sold us Sept 1st. so eager to get my hands on that $4500!

The hankooks were half worn when i got them, didnt really keep them that long but they were OK i spose, the MTR's work much better imo

I am on the hunt for a good 35" tire for my DD that prolly wont see much if any off road for some time. I am looking at the BFG A/T, Pro-crap A/T, and the Mickey Thomson ATZ..... But would really like to ron the FCII's they seem like they wear fast though?

bfg AT is a great DD tire they say, but i would try out the mickeys for something new. for a DD

I used to have the 35" trxus mts I loved them and I recommend them to everyone who wants a good trail/street tire. good in the mud, rocks, rode pretty good on the street even though they weren't balanced and the road noise was minimal. If you weren't driving this on the street I'd say try the competition compound trxus mts :)
