MUCV(Multi-Purpose Utility Command Vehicle)...The Dirtybus...

Man, that seat framing needs more triangulation!

:haha::haha: J/K.

Looks good. I like the steel studs, that's my bread & butter.
I love how you made it from scratch.
Made Somethin outta nuthin. :waytogo:

Thanks, yeah I did some steel framing for a bit... Thought about framing everything with it because I have a pretty decent pile saved up, but my neighbor gave me the square tubing... Just about everything I've used to build the bus was materials I already had or was donated from a friend... It's stupid how simple the sofa is put together, really good design...

I really like that seat design as well. I may try and copy that from the pictures. :D

Did you make some kind of locking mechanism for it? Just curious cause I like the idea for my truck.

I figured it wasnt needed, I asked cause I want to make a conversion van style back seat for my truck (or at least it's an idea rolling around in my head) and was looking for a template.

This bus is soooo sick man. I almost have the misses convinced :woot:

After I'm done I can mail you the template...

Well, haven't been working on the bus lately because of projects that needed to be done on the house... Gonna jump back on the bus real soon...

Happened to come across a damaged counter top at Home Depot last night..., there's a 3" chip on the top of the backslpash at the far end... It's 10' long, so that gives me the 7' I need for the galley and 32" I need next to the fridge... Should work out perfectly...

Oh yeah, got it for $108...

This bus is awesome! I can't wait to get a rolling camp. Sometimes sleeping on the ground looses its flair.

We do a lot of camping... Used to have a tent trailer before the bus, but I needed to be able to tow the blazer and place to camp... I've gotten to old to sleep on the ground anymore... Its also nice to have all the camping gear loaded and ready to go...

I will have an update in the next few days...

So, I got a chance to do some work on the bus... Started insulating the walls with 1.5" foam board... The plywood was temporary and will go back on after the walls a insulated... Also picked up some indoor/outdoor carpet that will get glued to the plywood...

I was thinking cork would be pretty cool! This way you could pictures of camping all over the place!

I plan on doing the ceiling later with the same carpet but lighter color...

Started to glue the carpet to the wall panels...

Test fitting the wall panels... Have to cut the carpet transition strip to length to cover the seams...

At the top you can see how the wiring loom goes on and you can get an idea of the sofa/bunk will work out...

Thanks guys...

Here's the carpet transition strip I picked up... Came in 12' sticks... I had to drill the holes bigger so I could use #8 pan head sheet metal screws... You can also see the counter top color and some sticker goo I still need to clean off...

Edit::: That put me at 1000 posts...
