Mud Drag Modifications

The pit is about 2' deep it is more a gooey mud than swampy mud. Of course the fastest trucks don't have the mud flap.

they run that here too, it kinda acts like a ski if you are going fast enuff it actually helps lift the front end, because it wraps around the bumper and it drags under the truck back past the front axle, about to the transfer crossmember, stops mud from coming up around all that stuff and makes it moe areodynamic, well i guess you would say mud dynamic.:)

our pits aren't really timed....they are so bad it just comes down to who goes the fartherest. there are only 2-3 trucks that can do a full pass and they have their gears set up with like 4.11's in the rear and 3.08's in the front....
they go thru the pit looks like its about a 45 degree angle....the rear down deep and the front tires spinning alot faster helps float the front end, but as soon as they get out of the mud where the tires can't slip, they stop and put it in 2wd.....when they are in the deepest part about half way thru and the rest of the track...motors are screamin and they are creeping, sometimes working the wheel back and forth real fast making the truck to start rocking side to side and just holding it to the floor at about 2-3 mph, rear tires completly under, front tires about 1/3 under. but these are guys who have 50-75,000 in their rigs. showing up with two trucks on a lowboy behind a kenworth. thebaddest truck here is called the"dirt water fox", from some western movie, clint eastwood , i think. he told me he had close to $35,000 in his motor.

This is way lower budget and the only thing I have ever seen stuck is a 4 wheeler. The pit is about knee deep during the stock event. The pit is fast and sometimes really fast with 1000 hp jeeps with extended wheel base. the fastest trucks are the blooms they run fords and there is one in every class. The fastest is denny's and his is a 1996 f-150 with a huge BBF and 38"s or so with 12.50s on the front and 16s out back. It is fast. They usually win but I think it is more sorted out then being ford. We will see my buddy from high school said he would sell his 1979 3/4 for $725. Might just swap in a bbc and go racing.
