we've been getting ready to start our mud racing season for the past 3 weeks non-stop. trying to work in between the rain drops and sometimes in the rain. i need a bigger garage bad.

we got the front end back on sunday. we gutted the cab, got rid of ALL the factory wiring and started over. i'll have to get a pic of it. made our own simple dash/ control panel. moved everything that was possible inside the cab, msd box, coil. we moved the battery to the bed. put new roller rockers in the engine, new starter, crankcase evac kit.

i made some sheet metal under gaurds for the engine and still have lots more gaurds to make up, i'm tired of a dirty engine every week.

we still got lots of easy stuff to do before this sunday, our first bog.

ya, i need 2 new 33" skinny boggers, even though those 2 bald ones won 4 times last year in the 33" class.

good luck man, keep the pedal to the metal, and pointed straight.

thanks.

were all loaded up and ready to go. truck sounds pretty good. should have some videos.

well then stay out of the mud:haha::haha:

No money in that.

Got 1st place in 33" and 36". 2nd place in 37" and up, 2nd in cut tire class. 3rd in nitrous class. No nitrous trucks were there.

Got a little fuel problem. Needs the Carb cleaned i think, won't idle in gear or i put too big a fuel pump on.

I will look tomorrow but i think my mud shielding worked. won;t have to hose down the engine like i was after every race last year.

Congrats

You must be alot younger than I am to change that many tires . Congrats on bringing home the $$$ and hardware! Any pics of the shields ? I made mine from a floor mat runner but would be interested in seeing yours.

Awesome, congrats! Does the new fuel pump need a regulator?

By the way, I thought you were switching to a big block this season?

i'm tired of a dirty engine every week.

Have you tried drag racing?

We change Tires 2 times. We start with 33's then go to 35's then run the last 3 classes with 38's. I usually have help and use a cordless impact.

I got some pics of my mud shields. I used .070 rolled plastic from summit racing . 2'x10' for $20
. I sealed off the gap from the inner fender to the frame and back to the cab mount.
The engine us clean, way better then before. Still got some mud in there but it wasn't flung everywhere and didn't stop the electric fan.

The pump may need a regulator. Need a gauge on it first and clean te Carb.

Not enough time and money to get started with the BBC. I got beat yesterday by bbc's.

Never drag raced before. some days the pits are like drags though.

Thanks for the pics and looks similar to mine. We are putting it back together today after a dyno tune and will run tonite. I well try to post pics and vids.

blueblazes44- get any vids?

we raced at a new place today. it was thick mud and my truck was just too heavy for it. i know i didn't place top 3 in any of the 3 classes. maybe got a 4th.

Same story here. We were at home track but they made it extra thick to make the small trucks happy. Although the truck ran great, we made it only 25'. 650 hp and we got beat by an 85 hp sammi on 44s in 2 classes. I got 3rd in SS class and my son placed 4th in street. NO $$ for us either. Will try to post vid tomorrow.....if I can figure it out.

:yikes: That's no fun, I bet your truck getting stuck was a lot more fun to watch than that sammy puttin' through there.

YZ, I was going to say time for the big block, until I read the next post. Are they trying to make the races boring? When I go to a race I want to see V8s with big HP and RPM going THROUGH the muds slinging it everywhere, not a sammy putzin along on top the mud.

:sign17::sign7: just joking on that second one hahah

The fans DID NOT enjoy seeing us making 25' runs. One guy with BBF (around 850 hp) in a hulled out Ranger made it 40'. But the sammi can't even spin the 44's and stays on top 'till around 180' or so. Took him a full 45 sec. Even the guys on the recovery tractor said it was a bad show.:doah:

The green blazer supposedly has a 632 BBC. He broke something in his d60 going over the hump.

Yeah baby! Now that's some sweet sounds. You hear all those nice V8s and then when you see a toyota or something start up you are waiting for them to floor it, and then you realize, oh, they already did! :haha:

It sounds like you are shifting to 2nd gear, but are you in low range or high? trying to get an idea of your wheel speed. I would guess low?

And you could see when he broke the dana 60 now that you mention it, because he stopped spinning his fronts after that hump and slowed down right at the end there.
