Hey... I have a 400 c.i. small block chevy under the hood... with full length long tube headers... I want to know.. what kind of mufflers will sound the best... I have heard 40 series flomasters before.. but I am looking for more of a throaty.. truck rumble.. then a stock car scream..
I want it to be deep and mean.. sound like a mean ass
truck... like it is..

regular 50 series are louder than the deltas and they are really deep and throaty. my dad has one on his ford and it's awesome.
 
I got 50 delta flow on mine and they sound awsome to me and when you lay on the gas they really rumble I have headers on it maybe that makes a difference
 
I'm running true duals with Flowmaster 40 series Delta Flows on the big block....WooHoo!! Sweet music to my ears! /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif
 
ive got the sweetest rice rocket muffler out there! its as big as a folgers can and sounds just like a leaf blower when I floor it!
 
My favorite muffler out there is the Dynomax Ultraflow.
I've got a 3" in and out on my Ram 5.9 and it sounds deep and throaty... gawd I love saying those two words in the same sentence... I hear my g/f calling!

BTW.. they out flow Flowmaster by a hell of a lot.. Flowmaster 435cfm vs. ultraflow's 1133cfm.
 
I've got 40 series flowmasters on my 4WD and they sound real good, but I have 3" duals on my 2WD also but I have Dynomax 6" round mufflers that I got from Jegs and I really like the sound they make, it's a completely different sound from the flowmaster, it's very deep and healthy /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I also have 400 small blocks in both of my trucks, gotta love 'em /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.
 
i have the same setup, been looking for a while. i dont like the rintintin flowmaster sound. so for now i still have the glass packs. not quite legal. but a contenting rumble through all revs
 
What size do you want?
I'm going to run 2 1/4 true duals no cat.
I'm not looking for performance over 4500-5000 anyway...
BTW... Even Dynomax's SuperTurbo's flow around 410cfm so don't mistakenly order it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
The Summit part # for 2 1/4" is WLK-17217 and the 2 1/2" is WLK-17219. They are $59.95 each and I guarentee if you like a deep throaty sound up to 3000rpm and you don't mind it waking up above that.. you'll LOVE the sound of these mufflers.
