how hard is it to change the multi function switch in a 86 s 10 blazer. My high beams stay on all the time and I do not hear the switch click when trying to switch to low beams. I am pretty sure it is the switch. but if anyone has any other thoughts let me know. thanks

easy, steering column trim comes off, screws come out, switch assy comes up, connectors removed, reversed, good to go

The actual switch for the high/low beam selection is mounted on top of the steering column, under the dash. You don't have to remove the multi-function switch at all to replace it. There's a steel rod that goes down to the switch. If you watch closely while operating the lever, you'll see the rod moving and the switch that it attaches to.
