I've been using a 110v Hobart Handler 135 MIG welder that I've been using for 15 years or so. I'm looking to step up a bit and get a multi process set up in the roughly $1000 range that can weld up to 3/8" steel. I have been looking at another Hobart set up https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LFQWPBN/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=AF8EGQ3KRZQB6&psc=1 . My current Hobart has been a decent machine but I'm not necessarily married to the brand and will look at any decent brand. What suggestions do you guys have?

no first hand with these newer hobarts / millers . . .

but i can say i always look at MAX resale value and speed of sale so i stick to the RED or BLUE most of the time . they never last long on the resale market but i will say hobart and weldmark is right behind them in my book .

i tend to find RED deals in my area so i have 3 RED units and a older hobart i got from my old farmer friends estate when he passed . . . sentamental reasons and i use it a lot .

Everlast has been good for me and I have a pro fabricator buddy that just started using one as well. (he was a Miller guy)

Not really interested in resale seeing that I'm looking to keep it for quite some time. I'm not even looking to sell the one I have but continue to use it for lighter projects..

I have a Multimatic 215. It does everything I need it to do except AC TIG.

I do use my Millermatic 252 for heavy welding, but that's only due to duty cycle.

WTF. I paid $1220 for mine after rebate in a couple years ago. $2k is insane. I thought it was just the upper end welders that Miller raised through the roof. I was about to buy a Dynasty 400 but it went up $2200/26% in March. Looks like it went up another 6% since then. WTF. Chip shortage my ass.

ITW/Miller is going to completely lose the bottom end of the market. No one is going to learn to "build with blue" and within a decade they will fade away because eventually everyone else will have software. Across the board you can buy two Chineseum equivalents, sometimes closer to 2.5x.

The only difference is the software at this point so unless you need it for manufacturing, screw them. The software was worth 50% more, but not 100%.
