multi purpose truck build thread

i am starting my first ground up build soon i want to build a a kick ass tow rig , dd and part time wheeler
So here is what the plans are
2001 Duramax engine
6 speed Alison
Dana 60 front
Dana 80 rear
33-37 inch tires haven't decide yet
coil over front suspension
but here is the problem i don't know what truck to build
i have a lead on a 71 c20 truck with a 85 k30 frame or a 97 3500 Chevy crew single wheel long bed truck but its two wheel drive
so what truck should i build

The 97 would have the major advantage of having a lot of the required electronics installed on it already from the factory (electronic speedometer, tach, VSS etc), and also has a wider / beefier frame to handle the size and weight / torque output of the LB7.

That said, a 71 C20 with a Duramax would be pretty wicked! Contact MAXSPEED here on CK5, he put a Duramax into a 67-72 K5 Blazer
