So I am prepping the truck for a mud bog tomorrow night. Swapped on the tire and wheels off the buggy so I actually have some good tread and prepping everything else I can.

Any tips?

race in drive? 4 hi? 4 low?

run my iroks backwards in the rear?

I have not done any real deep mud so I could use some input.

Your gonna have to pick a gear that will keep your rpm and wheel speed up w/out lugging the motor.

Water proof every thing twice, then do it again to make sure

Don't really know about the irocs but if they dig less backwards, You want to run them on the front that away, you don't want your front to dig down.

Get it as light as you can.

Wind it as tight as you can also:haha:

Depends on the mud. I would say if it is real thick 4lo, if not you may get away with 4hi. Wheel speed is key but you probaly don't have the power turning all 4 in the muck. I always used 4lo and 3rd gear with mine for general tom foolery. 350 -465-205 w/ 1 tons 38 swamper and 5.13's

Also we are gonna need pics.

Hmm well its got a 6.0 under the hood and 5.38 gears so I hope power is not a huge issue.

I could get a 150 shot on it tonight as I have a friend that just pulled it off his lease he turned it. If the tank is empty though I would have to run around tomorrow and find some.

what about some type of mat on the front? I have seen that on alot of mud trucks.

Make sure the mullet looks good also :D

It just depends what type of mud. If your rocker deep in goo, your ****ed . But hey it AZ do they even have mud.:haha:

dude just mount your tires the normal way and run in low range and in drive if it starts to bog down reach up and jerk it in to low gear and stand on it and make sure your sawing that steering wheel back and forth

As for the 150 of N2O I say if you have time to do it right do it!!!

and the mat is just to keep water out of the engine bay some guys swear buy it others say its a waste of time

Pull your spare ,your taigate, speaker boxes, tools, ect get it light as possible

dunno if I have time, i still have to fabricate my bump stops, move my limiting straps, replace the other rear centering pin and u-bolt, clean and remount the air filter, find some larger runner mat and try to do something about these wheel wells.

ahhh

but.. I do have tomorrow:D

she looks way better with the buggy wheels and tires.. good enough that I might leave them and get the buggy some new tires..maybe a maxxis or 42 sx or..

anyways..

I gotta see your mud hole. That rig looks like it was made for muddin: jacked up, fat tires, and a light body. You'll do fine! Please post pics.

I was just going through your build thread for that truck to see what it had in it. It reads like a good book and I'm only about a quarter way thru it. You Are Crazy! A good kind of crazy. Good Luck

i remember when he got that truck, he swore it would stay 2wd....kinda glad it didn't tho, otherwise those doughnuts & j-turns wouldn't have been as much fun to watch! deff, have someone taking pics of your run, or a video would be real nice!

Ill get pics and vid, they also have a professional photo team on track nights so im hoping for some good ones and ill buy em.

Im going out there for my birthday so it should be a good time, parents and a ton of friends will be there. One bummer is that I heard they dumped way to much water into the bog and it already claimed a few of my friends engines.. one that was just built:crazy:

Im bringing a spare starter and alternator with me just in case as i heard plenty of those got hosed too.

I think the truck will do ok, im just not going to like it if there is a nasty amount of water in it. I was told the water was making waves going over the windshields it was so deep ..:doah:

maybe ill adjust the coil overs and raise the truck a few inches..

tonight I started getting getto and trying to make a old k5 inner fenderwells fit my truck:haha: good times

ironwood and elliot

10 bucks to get in

15 to run your junk.

il toss an extra 20 to see you flog your 08 in 3 feet of goo:deal:

about a hour away from my house. If it was 4wd and didn't have street tires I would do it. :doah: I didn't even own it for a full day and it had mud on it.
