My 383 build

Oh, you said you were rebuilding a vortec 350, so that is where my confusion came from.

You are correct, so if you don't have a vortec intake already then you don't need to go that route if those heads are no good then. In that case, if you got the money I would just buy a new set of heads, Dart, Edelbrock, Brodix, GMPP, AFR, just stick with american made if you can. And get whatever port size floats your boat. By the time you find a good set and have a bunch of work done to them (valves, guides, springs, retainers, etc, you could of had near a new set a lot of times.

The edelbrock RPM intake is a good all around intake, can't go wrong with that, not sure about using it with TBI though.

American made seems to crack easier then a potato chip :doah:

I should get the block back today had that bored .030 then I search for new heads.

These are $300 each

new springs for high lift $36

machine shop says $40 to cut both heads valve guides down. Still cheaper then most of the aftermarket stuff.

This manifold will work with that combo, but hte price of the manifold vs a free TBI manifold may make standard aluminum heads look better...

BTW, make sure you click the little hyperlink globe before you paste the URL in there, or it won't work a lot of times.

Good point although with an adapter plate I think that allows me to use a carb version and those run about $200. I intended to sell my current motor when I am ready to swap and the intake will go with it so I will have to buy a new one anyway.
