About a month ago I started hearing clunking sound when I would turn the motor off. I pulled the inspection cover off the trans and listened. It was for sure coming from the torque converter. All the bolts were tight. I'd never heard of fins breaking inside a converter and I'm still not sure what was making the noise. Well it got to the point I could hear some whining coming through the tunnel so I figured it was time to doing something. I ordered a reman with a new conveter.

I got the old tranny out this morning and pulled the pan on it. There really isn't that much dirt or metal in the pan. The fluid isn't as pink as I normal see it. Strange also, there was a valve body bolt in the bottom of the pan so who knows.

I pulled the valve body off to take a look and there still wasn't a lot of metal or band material. I'm wondering if the valve body bolt sitting in the pan allow for an internal leak that damaged the torque converter.

Anyone got a blow up dissambled view of 241?
