The truck will start but dies shotly after that. If you start it and keep reving, then when you let off to idle it dies. I'm 17 so i do not know much about this stuff.
thank you all for your help
P.S. the fuel pump was recently replaced.

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me.
Or if it's an 87 it's TBI so maybe the IAC or Idle air Control module is bad.

been messing with the 87 blazer and can't find a vacuum leak and what does TBI mean? thanks for the info.

Throttle Body Injection
It's the type of fuel injection you have, it first started in 87 so it should be TBI.
The Idle air control module might be the culprit.
It's a motor that keeps the idle where it should be, instead of your foot.:D

Check the EGR valve too. I'm not sure if it could cause your specific problem but it was killing my engine a few years back. It's a fairly cheap part and worth the time to check it while you're under the hood.

Do you have access to a scantool and somebody with knowldge of it .
Have them check the data stream and check the counts on the Idlae air controll motor also check the coolant temp sensor reading . I would recheck for vaccume leaks .
