Here we are. I made up a new photo album on my site. Check out all the pics.

I'll try to answer any questions, but Ryoken is the expert here and any questions you might ask....I already asked him:bow:

I still need to finish up the repairs/refurb on the engine harness, then straighten it all up and I'll be done with this project.

Lots of people have checked out the pics so far....no comments?

Here are the hits since I posted it...........

HAHA I went straight to your site from my favorites and did not use your silly link:D. Those cable holders are the exact same thing that I am gonna use to run my cables under the truck and inside my battery box:D. I also got about 6 ft of that plastic conduit you have for free today. They ripped some out at work and replaced it with 1" SCH 40 (some crazy shipyard rule for cable protection in the machine shop). I am gonna use to run power and antenna to my stereo in my Tuffy box. I might put my CB in there and put a cheap Kracko stereo in for tunes and stick it in the dash:D.

Your pics and setup look good by the way. The only question is do you have any better pics of the starter area and how you ran the cable down to it or can you explain it?

I also ordered my switch and cable lugs today so all I need is finishing stuff like the cable clamps and the power studs. I also need a map torch to solder the lugs but I got a Lowes card for that.:D

Why didn't you place both conduits up against the front of the bed? Less interference if you want to slide something under the box.

Ira, Use a propane torch. No need for the heat of the MAP gas plus it will save you some money.
The cable is routed through the same pipe thing that the knock sensor wire is routed through. I know it is near the manifolds but I think it will be OK. If not, I will get some more cable and re-route it later. I'll try to get some better pics of that tonight.

The reason I routed the cable and PVC pipe where it is, is so that it comes up directly into the plastic toolbox. I could not put the plastic box all the way FWD in the metal toolbox because of the way the hinges work. It would not open that way.
Plus it is a longbed so having it that way is not too big of a deal really.

I blame Ryoken and Sandawgk5 for that part.
I was going to do 1/0......

I like the 2/0 running to the alt though. Looks crazy.

hehe, thats it, tell the better half it's RyyyyyOOOOOken's fault.... I can take it... :haha:

anything 0 and bigger in an automotive app is overkill imo... your never drawing that much....

haha, that charge wire is crazy! mines freakin 4 and huge for a charge wire.. tho I may step that up a bit once I do a welder...

everything looks good.. make sure you get some boots for the posts.. one thing to consider, it'll work either way... you always want your important power being as direct as possible, you may wanna consider running that main pos lead from the battery to the solenoid (feed post), then run your big jumper over to your aux post... either way, it'll work...

oh, and uh, that starter jumper wire looks a tad shoddy.... :o

Ryoken, is it considered blame if pics of your truck are on the wall of my shop labeled "Things to do to the blazer". My wife doesn't know your name if that helps.:D

I have about 50 feet of 2/0 welding cable that I want to do this mod with.

Looks like a nice set-up.

Might consider shooting some silicone in the conduit holes in the toolbox to keep water and mud out. Might suck to have an inch of water slosh around inside.

wow, that'd be some high praise... one day I hope I get GMOTM...

The guy I sold my Chevelle to came by the other day with it.. God I miss that thing, it really looked bada$$ going down the street... :( that car coulda been in a mag...

oops, sorry for the ramble... :o

good call on the potential tadpole farm.... I know I'd be pissed to open the lid and find that...

here's one for ya, that Chevelle had an 8D mounted in the trunk, so at the time I built it, I had a hook up for used steelbraided hose in various sizes.. so I used some #12 as conduit up the framerail for my battery cables and fuel wires to run thru...

Now thats fancy! :haha: /end hijack.... :o

Ryoken,

That's an awesome idea with the steelbraided. I happen to have access to some 3/4" ID braided.......... Can't believe I didn't realize that sooner.:doah:

Might be alittle fancy for a mud truck tho.

My wife looked at your pics and saw $$$$$$. I see :D:D:D:D.

eh, it protects em, even covered in mud.. free is hard to argue with...

the ironic thing about my rig is, most of what has been done, is labor... the next 6 months are gonna be the coin.... big time.. :doah: :haha:

did you cob that motor out of a van or did you replace the dipstick?? :D

Looks good to me. ;) I like it but just one question. How come you went to the bed and not the firewall like Ryoken did??

Just wondering if it was easier to run em back there for some reason.
