My belated birthday gift to myself, a new off road toy. pics

I bought myself a belated birthday present today. It an 08' KONA Coilair Delux "All Mountain" Mountain bike. Its built for all around riding but its more on the agressive Down Hill decent side of the All Mountain bikes out there. Its not a light bike for that reason, round 38 Lbs, but you can lock out the suspension for climbing. Its got 7 inches of travel. Disc brakes front and rear. The breakes are Hyper Agressive. Fox shock out back its a bad ass bike.

I used to be hard core into Mountain biking back in the mid 90's and I miss it. Several friends have gotten into it and bought some nice bikes. I bought the bike I wanted. Actually I wanted an 09' but it was another 1000 bucks and not on the market yet, didn't want to wait and this bike is good enough. The components are the only thing that will change for 09'. These are bad ass allready for me. There is one model of the KONA Coilair line thats above this model, its the EXTREME but its 6K. Could not spend that kind of coin. 3K was more then enough money spent. Cant wait for some high speed decents and some jumps. but Im NOT looking forward to the climbs again . This will get me in shape.

Thanks guys, Actually its kept in the vault under lock and key protected by large caliber guns and ammo . The light back ground was good for pics since it was getting dark.

awesome, mountain bikes rule, they are pretty much my life. 1st my bikes then my truck with me. I have a 08 Giant Glory DH all done up... its fun..

THROW SOME PICS UP MANG! I wish I could only ride on nothing but down hill terrain so I could get a heavy DH bike I could haul ass on but thats just a dream ofcourse .

That is a hell of a nice bike! I have a few friends that own Konas. One is a Stinky (DH), Coiler and a Dawg. All really nice bikes. I am trying to get a Specialized DH right now from one of my other friends. Going fast down mountains is sooooo much fun!

Thanks man, I have been away from it since 97' I miss riding and Im out of shape, but I still dig going fast. I still ride a KTM 450 dirt bike but I need to get in better shape, this will helt for sure. Your right, Going fast down hill IS sooooo much fun.....ofcourse until you crash your brains out , but I guess thats what helmets are for. I ordered a full face Gyro helmet from the bike shop I bought the bike at, got a good deal on it.
