My Blazer got weighted today...

Went to scrap yard today and just for Sh!tz and Giggles, I drove over the scale and got a read out. 5,540lbs..

This included me 180lbs & 3/4 tank of gas

Full size spare tire
HD rear tire carrier bumper
Stock OEM steel rims all around
No carpet, Line X'd interior
OEM front / rear seats
Stock axles, tranny, motor
HD rock sliders
No SwayBar up front
Tube style front bumper (pre-runner style)

So is this good, bad, or just about normal. Not like I can do much about it. but always wondered what this beast weighs.

If you cashed it in while you were there,if scrap prices are 260 a ton like they are here,you could get 600+ bucks for it.......

I've been reluctant to part with my old van and some other things in y yard that I have not used in years,but since they have to "go" sometime ,once my mom passes,I have been thinking about cashing them in for scrap before prices plummet again...

I don't think the prices will plumet any more, they might fluctuate depending on demand from China but the dollar losing value is what has raised the price so much so that is not getting better anytime soon

That's funny I rolled over the dump scale today too. I tagged 9120lb empty on the way out...... In my pickup though lol
