Well I have been hiding for a little while. I found a good deal on a D60/14bff 5.13's detroit rear, welded front. So I jumped on it. I have sold my old axles/parts so I cant wait to be strong :D
Here is the link to all of the pics: build up pics

But casically ill give a quick view of whats going on.
This is how I got them excpet the chromo tie rod was on there :D

Started tearing down the axles:

D60 shafts on top, 10b shafts on bottom (arnt they cute? :D )

Then the axles came with 1410 yokes but I dont have the $$ for driveshafts so I replaced the yokes with stock sizes. Here is a 1410(bottom) vs. D60 1310 top.

It came with the axle, but you can tell it was cut with cut off wheels :eek1:
Its very nice though. the PO had it to go under the stock cover but the stock cover is super thin and had a big dent in it, so I just ground some of the material off the backside and it slid right over the stock cover. I tihnk it turned out sweet and it fits VERY well. :D

Lots of spray paint on the ground :D

VERy clean work, nice job

Nothing a pressure washer cant fix :D

Damn that D60 is sexy. I need to get me one of those bad boys so I can step up to some 40's.

Nice work man :waytogo:

Well after getting the other caliper grinded I went to pop loose the bleeder screws, well snapped the heads off both and there was no way they were coming out, way to siezed up. So all that grinding for nothing.
Lets try it again

I just used a flap disk. Worked good.

Yeah, that looks pretty darn good. While we're talking about D60's,I'm ready to get rid of my 10 bolt for one and have a few questions. My rig is a 70 K5 so what I'm looking for is a mid 80's Chevy D60,right?If I start with a bare housing what kind of costs am I gonna have in building it up?(not counting gears and a ARB unit). And beer.
