Well I'm at a point in which my mind runs crazy.
My dilemma is my 76 k5 with a crate 350 engine th350/208 combo is out for the count. I lost a tooth on the rear pinon gear (12bolt)
I have an 83 k5 350 700r4/208 with a 10 bolt; the odo reads 24000 not sure how many times it has turned over. Ive replaced the valve stem seals an still get the burning oil smell (new exhaust system)
Im thinking swaping engines which is a no brainer. An rebuild the spare block I've been hoarding.
But the head scratcher is will the trans case be compatible, between the th350 an the 700?
Sorry for the long read but im curreny on a road trip the NAU to take my daughter to college.

Thanks in advance MEMO

If I read this correctly, you are asking about swapping the engine into the '83. That is not a problem.

What about the transfercase.
I know the engine will swap over but i want to swap the t case as well
Are they the same spline count an everything between both trans or what all would i have to modify/ adapt

Find a matching set of 10 bolt or a rear 10 bolt with same gear ratio as you have in 12 bolt.

They are the same spline count, 27 spline. As long as you have the adapter, they swap right over.

Thanks onetonbb just what I wanted to hear.
Now to swap everything around
An plan a rebuild for the 76

Yup! If you have a 208 in the '76, there is no problem with swapping things around. I guess that I didn't understand all of your questions. The TH350/208 combo used a longer adapter and made the length the same as the 700R4/208.
Apparently someone got rid of the 203 that the '76 came with in favor of a better low range ratio.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.
I guess thats what I get for going on roadtrips
I overthink stuff
The 76 is a work of art.
Is has a 350/350 208 combo with 12 bolts front an rear
Also has the quad headlight conversion already done.
The 83 is bone stock lake tahoe truck that was just a winter truck
Now to get back home after the road trip.
