Alternator, maybe? A more detailed description would help.

low on power steering fluid or bad power steering pump. does the tone change when moving the steering wheel?

or you have a Jackson gear drive and don't know it ;-)

I think it was the power steering fluid... just filled it up and taking it for a test run to see how she runs

Check your PS hoses. I had to fill mine up a few times, and had sprung a leak in the line.

Yep! if the power steering fluid is low it will definitely make some noise. Let us know how it goes!

If it wasn't the powersteering fluid. Vacumm leaks can make a whine/whistleing noise.
