Brown Santa came today and delivered my new temporary front shocks. I say temporary because I will be running these until I get all the parts for my lift. They are Monroe’s that I got off of amazon for $80 for the two of them.

I knew all four were smoked but didn’t realize how bad! It took about 30 min to install both and then I took the old ones and compressed them by hand with very minimal force and they stayed compressed..

After I was done, I had to take her for a ride and wow! It’s amazing what even a cheap pair of new shocks will do. The body roll in the front is gone and no more vibration. I also gained an inch in the front with these. While I was out driving, I decided to go to one of the county parks that has terrible roads and found the best spot to see how she would flex. I wasn’t disappointed for a mainly factory setup. Now I need to get the rears ordered.

The reason it lifted it is because they are spring shocks. It would flex a bit better with the sway bar removed.
I may have to take that off and try it! Haha! I need to get all new joint connections and bushings too.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it worked well with the ol flat two leafer

I like it though, might make up for 27 year old worn out springs!
New springs are on the list! And I’m guessing these are original and are 35 years old..

Yeah, I could probably bend those by hand too.. I feel like there should be at least one more leaf on the front of this thing.

You should paint your truck with a flat clear coat and leave it just how it looks. For some reason the rust and stuff on it just looks perfect to me.

I've never seen anyone run those in the front before.

The ratbag has been running front shocks like those for years. Lol! I had them and they fit. The front flexes pretty good with them too, stock springs with one leaf added re arched for about a 2 inch lift, home made easy inch and the swaybar went missing.

I remember Russell looking at them one time. He asked me if I was going to leave those on there. I said Yeah. He said Cool!

Those shocks mounted on the Ford towers would really cornfuse the poop outa people.

You know, at first glance
