So, today I swapped the 350 out of my wrecked Blazer into my new Blazer.

My first time doing this, it went well. I pulled the engine from the grey Grey '76 two Saturdays ago. This morning I installed it in the '86.

I had to do the pilot bushing flywheel and clutch going from Auto to SM 465.

Tomorrow I'm putting the new slave cylinder on and maybe finish it up and get it started. I'm Stoked.:D

Looks like some new bumper brackets, so I'm gonna guess you didn't pull the core support to swap the engine?

*edit* or did you just paint er' up while you had the motor out?

Crap dude toss some air in that front/passenger side tire! Looks like you're sittin' on the rim almost....

Hope it fires up first try for ya' :)

Thanks for wishing me well firing it up. That should happen tomorrow after I install the radiator grill and new slave cylinder.

This truck is CaveBlazen's old truck. I bought it off him 10-27-07. He had a restored engine bay, and a cracked block. All I've done is swap in my old motor so far. As for the tires, I had to air them way down for clearance for my engine lift. I'll air them up tomorrow.

But, I'm really excited becuz it's almost done.

And I just had to let everyone know, becuz it's a big deal for me. The pics are merely evidence, becuz I know how people act without pics.

Thanks

Sounds fun... I can't wait for the day I get to do my first engine swap...headaches and all!

Caveblazin......correction.

Spencer Harris.. he seems to be a really cool guy, and he did lots of work to this truck before I got it.

As for the difficulty of the swap. It took me about 6 hours to pull the motor from my old truck. Then I had about 4 hours of prep on the motor. And then today it took 11 hours to get to the point where I stopped. But I'm really slow, and most of the time was spent smashing my fingers and bonking my head and staring at it not really knowing where to go next. But I think that means the next swap should take about 1 hour, and a real mechanic.....30 minutes.:p::p::p::p::p:Really I think a good mechanic could do it in 6 hours. But....I'm havin fun, and it makes me feel like I'm a real man not a pansy:haha:

i have pulled 5 motors and installed 2 and im only 17!!

its alot of work but after so many engines its a walk in the park on a nice warm day LOL

i remember my first, 84 K5 had to pull the 6.2L paperweight out and accidentally dropped in a 77 454

i miss it

Good to see young ones learning self sufficience. My first was a '57 Nash Metro, swapping engines on the front lawn.:haha:
Now I paint my engines funney colors.
