Just got my first K5 a couple weeks ago and can't stop tinkering with it. It was my friend Daniels truck who died in a car accident 2 years ago and his dad finally agreed to sell it to me. I am going to put alot of work into it and get it all fixed up how he would want it. So I am going to be on here constantly looking for help with it. I have already dropped about a grand on it so far; extended the rear driveshaft, re-ran the exhaust to allow the front driveshaft to go on, then replaced the transfer case after I found out it was shot, replaced the rear glass and the handle to roll it up, put some royal purple in it, I have a steering gearbox on the way, and a bunch of other odds and ends that add up quickly. I still need to fix the rust that is building up on the floorboards around the front seats and spray the inside with bedliner, get the seats recovered (there is a grey one, a blue one, and a red one), recolor all the vinyl on the inside, put some heavy duty bumpers on it and mount my winch, and put some gears in it. Could probably use some bondo on the passenger side and a fresh coat of paint too. But I promised the wifey I would slow down on dumping money into it. I am in Houston and I actually have a couple of spots to go wheeling over here, so let me know if you are close. Either way, I am looking forward to getting some good info from all the K5 veterans.

Welcome. Sorry to hear about your friend. I have not been here long, but I have definitely found info that I would have been lost without. But anyways, good luck with the build and getting your wife to let you spend money on it, LOL. That's the problem I'm having.:haha:

Welcome and sorry to hear about your friend also. Good thing on keeping his truck going. Post up some pics when you are able too.

Sorry to hear about your friend as well. Im a new member, you'll love the website!!!

Here are a couple pics, this is after I had it detailed. It had mold and dirt buildup on it that I couldn't get off with anything. It took 4 guys 5 hours to make it shine again.

Sweet, that was annoying, heres the pics

Thats a nice truck. I have somewhere to keep my topper, just no driveway to park it in at night. Congrats on the truck and the bun in the oven!

Yeah, I have to just keep the top in the backyard. I won't be able to use it until I can get the A/C functional, it topped out at 106 yesterday and I don't want to bake in my truck.
