Was a brisk 38 degrees this morning and since the kids didn't have school I decided I'd take the topless K5 to work today. We did have parent/teacher conferences but the kids were going to ride with my wife so I didn't have to worry about freezing them out.

Well, I head out to the shop to get the K5 and my 11 year old daughter comes out a minute later (of course in short sleeves and crop pants - she's a little oblivious to cold) and she says "Were taking the Blazer?!" and I say well, I am but you need to ride with mom." She tells me nope, she's riding with me and, of course, being the great dad that I am, I tell her she has to wear a heavy coat.

So I'm backing the K5 out of the shop with her outside of the shop. I stop to close up the shop and she tells me she loves the way the K5 sounds.

Guys, does it get any better than that?!!!!!

So we head out and it isn't too bad, I grabbed a blanket so she could wrap it around her legs since her crop pants are kinda short and she looks pretty darn happy.

We get to school and she tells me that was pretty fun, and of course she's right about that.

I was glad I had grabbed my winter cap, but the drive wasn't that bad - cause, come on, any time your driving your K5 things are good

Well, there's my story. My daughter Alexandra makes me proud yet again :D

First! thats a little too chilly for me. It was 46 deg. this morning, I'm putting the top back on this weekend.

Kids! :saweet:

We did just that enough times that there became a blanket known as "BB", "Blazer Blanket".

It is only mid 60's in the mornings right now . I would left mine off , but some damn tweakers live on my street .

Way cool!! And no, it doesn't get any better than that. My boy gets ANGRY when we don't drive the dooley. Some days I just don't feel like trying to park that thing in the same area as the pill-powered parents who can't seem to get their "big" CR-V or Forrester into a single parking spot.
Keep up the good work!!

YJ,

Great story! Those moments are what 1st Gen ownership is all about... :saweet:

:usaflag:

Kids are awesome man! Every time I go pick my kids up (1 and 3) my oldest always asks "Daddy, did you drive the big truck?" I try to whenever I go get them because of the way she acts when she sees it. She always stops and stomps her feet a couple times and says "WOW! Daddy we're riding in the big truck!!" It makes me feel so good. And she always wants to have me play "Mississippi Mud" by Hank III. She knows all the words and sings them to the top of her lungs. It's great! And all the while my 1 1/2 y.o. is in the back clapping her hands and trying to sing.

Right on, it doesn't get much better than that. Loaded up the family and made a topless run to Sonic last night for ice cream. My two year old loves being taller than everyone else.

Great stories Copasetic and everyone else! Guess these vehicles are universally loved by our little ones!

BTW AJs72K5 - welcome to the board and please start a post and post some pics of your K5 and its details - looks incredible from your avatar pic!!!
