My front suspension. Am I doomed?

Ok, so as some of you may know...since its been a couple months now. I've been working on updating the whole front end on my 85 K5. I've installed new Tuff Country 6" springs and installed a Dana 60 front end. Here is what it looks like right now:

The Dana 60 had come with shock tabs welded on the top of the axle and the stock tabs hacked off. I went back and forth and finally decided to use the tabs already installed on the axle. I went ahead and ordered some ford shock towers, hacked them up and installed one side. I ordered some shocks (12" travel... 17" collapsed... 29" extended according to specs). Knowing this I had made the gap between shock mounts at around 22-23" (somewhere in the middle of the travel).

All was well until I actually installed the shock I received tonight. My main question for the CK5 brotherhood is, what is the typical uptravel for a 6" Tuff Country front suspension?

Here are some pictures showing my dilemma. As you can see... there may be a potential interference with the steering arm at FULL compression. The way its setup now, I have potential contact with the steering linkage at over 5" of up travel. I do not yet have bump stops since I replaced the bump stops with these ford towers. I've currently only hacked up one ford tower because I was expecting some potential issues. So the passenger side is still a blank canvas.

Bump-stop it is really your only option.

Check the second page of my build thread to see how i lowered my stock ones.

I doubt you'll get that much compression out of those springs myself. I'd have personally set up the shocks to be more compressed than not at right height. My suspension is all about the droop, and I suspect yours will be too

As mentioned, leaves will have more downtravel than uptravel because the spring rates are generally different for uptravel/downtravel.

And I also agree that you won't need more uptravel than you have, 6" springs aren't going to be that flexy.
