Well my full hydro is coming together i wish it was done already since , i really need to have steering for the local mud runs in 4 weeks. What I did was i cut my old steering shaft right about 8 in from the rag joint then i had a shaft for my orbitol valve. So i welded a mount onto the frame and the steering shaft goes right in just like a gearbox so it is coming together . I do need to get a seal for the orbitol measured but i have not had time yet . All i need to do really is route my lines and mount tabs that my friend is having a metal shop punch in 1" plate for the mounting tabs. Here are some pictures of how i mounted the orbitol valve.

Do you have any pics of your ram mount? I am going to go with full hydro also, and this is just one of the stumbling blocks I have run into.

lookin good, i hate seeing trucks on "mall marcher tires" =( its sad but in the end its all good. i like the beginning of full hydro, BUT just curious why you didnt laeve the rag joint, in case of body flex between the colomn and the valve...

i dont have my mounts done yet having a steel fab guy do them i will have pics on monday i hope.... also as far as the rag joint the only reason i didn't leave the rag joint because that is the connection between the steering shaft and the gearbox . the part of the shaft that connects to the colum has play in order to move and extend as well .

yeah it took me alot of talking to others searching pirate etc to decide where to mount my ram i will draw a diagram in paint and post it here in a few mins

ok here is what i am doing it is a very rough sketch as well .

I would mention it again. I think, IMO, you should have some kind of rag/u-joint in that shaft. I do realize that it slips in/out at the top, but it doesn't really allow lateral movement. And chevy's flex alot as we all know.

Other than that, I think it looks great!
