Should my tank have a shield? Mine has nothing, just a tank that is quite visible from underneath. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

theres a factory plastic shield most people ditch theres cause it holds mud against the tank and makes it rot out. I still have mine though.

I've seen them with and without. Big steel plate, would have been nice if the PO had not removed and trashed it. Big dent and a crack in the old tank. The tank has been replaced. Now I'm looking for a replacement skid plate. They start at $25 and go up...

Mine came with a steel skid plate. Not plastic. But I still hit it a lot so I did this to it.

The bottom of the tank now doesn't hang lower then the frame rails.
