Just had to have a little fun today. I wanted to see just how much flex a stock K5 has and fortunately I have a getto RTI ramp in the front of my house. BTW I think my neighbors probably think I am nuts.

When are you gonna get donna a truck?

It's been lovely, but I have to scream now.

It is in the plan for next year. I looked at one a few weeks ago for her and had a good laugh when the guy told me the price. First though we want to buy a house and get my truck somewhat done.

You don't need no stinkin house! Look at all the room a k5 provides! Even more if there's two!

Ghetto RTI ramp..............ROFLMAO.....Oh God that was funny. I used to have a similar ramp.

http://www.moabdadc22.alloffroad.com/Real four wheelers don't need tools to remove body panels, paint, tail lights..etc.

We've got a big rock out next to the driveway that gets used for testing for shock mounts and fender trimming. Gets some odd looks from the neighbors.

I use the ditch in front of my house
smile.gif
Ditch is no longer deep enough to do the trick anymore now that I got it Flexing out at 752 on a 25 deg ramp. I guess the deep part of the ditch is about 3'ft and with opossing wheels in it all four still touch.
One time I was testing it and checking to make sure my drive shaft wasn't bottoming out. I dropped one tire in and one was still on the street. A neighbor that's always slowing down to see what I'm working on in a POS stock IFS Toyota stops and asks if I'm Stuck. He's been eyeballing me working on the truck since I got it. He hunts and sometimes I see his truck all mud covered so I know he wheels a little. I laughed "No". "What are you doing?" he askes. "Seeing what scrubs and making sure my drive shaft isn't bottoming". I hoped in pulled it in till I get it as flexed as the ditch will go.The guy freaked when she twisted up. Back bumper about 6 inches off the gound. He say's "you got to be stuck now!". "Nope, the ditch isn't deep enough to get me stuck" I told him. Well I'll hang around incase you need a tug. SO he starts telling me how good Toys are. I'm getting anoyed. I'm get under the truck to check the stuff I needed too. He's goes on about Toy's. I ask him if the has the Locking diff option. I knw he doesn't case of the age of the truck. He looks at me weird and say's Well it has the of road package. I can tell I know more about his truck's capability than he does at this point. I tell him they were good till the IFS. He looks at me funny. "IFS?". Yeah you know "Inferior Front Suspension" I say to him. He frowns. I smile. I point to the Ladys Bone stock 79 and say that one will lift A tire in the ditch but it will still go through it. It has more flex than your Toyota.
Hay you want to try my Ditch? I asked him. Hoped in the truck pulled right through it hooked a U turn in the yard and came back through it the other dirrection never spun a tire in full time. His Jaw dropped a few notches more. I pull up becides him. He say's So you think my truck would get stuck there? Yeah I KNOW your truck will get stuck there. You only have about 8 inches of wheel travel on your front wheels. I have about 18-20. He grunts and say's How do you know that? Because I have dragged quite a few IFS trucks like yours out of the woods that people thought were capable because the got a transfer case and tried to follow me. He shakes his head and drove off.
Haven't had the guy stop again LOL.

It's not my damn planet monkey boy!

i have a hole in my back yard that's pretty deep. when the sub was stock i could drop in at a certain angle and it would lift a tire. pretty fun!

I was articulating without my sway bar one day and my ORD shackle bolt punched a hole in my header right before the collector! Oh well! I still haven't connected my sway bar, I like the ride without it.

If it breaks, it wasn't good enough!

Damn grimmy...you got a great story for almost any occasion. I got all comfy and just enjoyed the hell out of that one!

we got a guy in our club with an older Toy. Its not the IFS but its no flex machine either. We had our meeting and this guy had just joined. After the meeting we decided to play on the club ramp for a while as there were about 6 trucks that wanted to try it out. The ramp was about 6 blocks from the meeting room and i made it there first so I had dibs on the ramp.
My first try I pulled a 935 forwards and the Jimmy was creakin' pretty good up the ramp. The newbie is looking unimpressed *shrug*. I decided to turn around and try it backwards to see if I can break 1000. I get all lined up and managed to pull a 1065 backwards.
cool.gif

I pulled off the ramp and waited for the numbers and watched the other guys play for a while. 89 XJ pulls a 795...not too bad. Now Mr. Newbie pulls up and starts up the ramp. He couldn't have been 2 feet up the ramp and a tire lifts...
laugh.gif
He sure looked surprised! I guess he thought since it was a 4x4 it was flexy...

My truck is still the only one to pull over 1000 on that ramp...so far.
